I was lucky enough recently to meet Colleen Dieter at my friend’s baby shower.
Actually, Colleen was host. Now, I don’t go to too many baby showers and I know there are some great ideas for throwing a great one, but something about Colleen’s just hit the right button.
I figure it was the fact that we all got to leave with the Blackfoot Daisy centerpieces. I thought, HOW FANTASTIC.
But we weren’t just sent on our merry way. Colleen, a master gardener (and owner of a landscape and garden consulting business), instructed us on how to keep the plant and its blooms happy way after she was gone.
The BlackFoot Daisy as I learned is native to Texas and is a perennial. Its blooms are white. It can be planted as ground cover or in a pot, Colleen told us.
I happened to have a big Terracotta pot ready with potting soil (from another project). So in the blackfoot went and I have to report is super happy.
And, Colleen, well, she is the hostess with the most. Thanks Colleen!
