George and I went to Uchiko last week and shared what has now become my 'fav' dessert. They refer to this as 'fried milk.' It's been described as a deconstructed milkshake. There's salty ice cream, a malty-thing and an oreo-cookie thing along with a chocolate mousse. Plus the killer is the puffy doughnut structure. When you splice it with your spoon, a milky cream oozes out. oh boy!

This is the dish that did us in -- I should add 'happily did us in.' This is their version of fried chicken nuggets. Sauce was sweet and spicy. (We didn't know a dish at their place could get this 'heavy.')

This was the first dish of the evening -- paper thin slices of amberjack fish and granny smith apple with a sweet apple / soy sauce.
