This is the big boulder in front of the house about a week ago. Honestly, things were getting a little out of control with the weeds around the rock. (see below how it looks now after using a really cheap, easy organic weed killing solution.)

I know…not too exciting…starting off a post with a pic of a Texas Moss Rock. Notice the lovely green WEEDS surrounding it. Well, a little DIY organic weed killer put a stop to that action — and that makes this lady very HAPPY HAPPY. (Please see pic below.)

I shot this pic today. No green weeds around the rock..yipppeeee!! Getting back to that base gravel layer.

I had been looking for an organic solution for a long time and finally experimented this past week. photo 5 copy

Ingredients to produce 1 gallon sprayer-full of the organic weed killer:

1 gallon white vinegar

1 cup salt

1 tbsp dish soap

To get a gallon the cost is around $4.50:

Vinegar — 1 gallon is $2.50 at Target

Salt — 1 Morton Salt container for $1 at The Dollar Store

Dish Soap — $1 @ Dollar Store

The 1 gallon garden sprayer is from Amazon.com and with my Prime membership was only about $10, including shipping. Works great!

BTW…one sprayer-full of the organic weed solution covered both my front and back pathways.
