Mom’s house today in North Austin got a brand spankin new fence — and yardandplate traveled to be onsite during the build — and boy did we learn some shortcut tricks on building a fence. Look at mom…so happy with this new segment. Cedar planks and all. So happy for you mom. It turned out super awesome!! And so much fun!

The contractor built the fence like it would have no gate. And at the end simply used a circular saw to cut the rafters to make way for the gate opening. He said most people will build the gate on the ground and will have a really hard time hanging it and lining it up to match the rest of the fence. The way he does it, the gate planks line up perfectly ...if it wasn't for the gate hardware, you wouldn't even know the door was there.
