Yardandplate is where I chronicle the happenings around our ‘lil 1929 Austin, Texas bungalow.

There’s food, family, friends and the antics of my husband, who constantly lightens my life with his ‘signature funny-man-demeanor.’

We laugh a lot, we love a lot. I garden a lot. And love it just like I love working on my yoga practice. And I guess both are very much one in the same.

I would say my husband is responsible for my love of cooking. If it wasn’t for him, I don’t think I would have tried so many recipes and kept at it.

Likewise, he bought me my first camera. And one of our shared likes is taking photos and talking about how to make them better.

Out of all of this, taking photos of my food came naturally. And posting and saving was a way to create a collection to refer back to, especially if the recipe was a ‘winner.’

We are also constantly working on giving our old 1929 bungalow a ‘face-lift.’ So yard endplate expanded out of the kitchen and into our front and backyards.

I hope you pop around the site. Take in some ‘eye candy.’ A recipe, or two, or three. And my wish is for us to share. Tell me what you are cooking. Or maybe you see something I am cooking that can be improved.

I wish you a lot of love, happiness, and peace πŸ™‚

love,

Danielle

  3. I have a surfeit of green beans and came to you for a go-to recipe and, alas, no green beans. Get cooking please! Until then, I’ll just have to stick with roasted with olive oil. Also, I’m going through a bit of an indian food phase. Could you work on a super healthy coconut/curry/lentil kind of thing? The girls and I are trying the peaches tonight!

    • Definitely!! I will work on something for coconut/curry/lentil. I am so glad you all are trying the peaches…yipppeee!! Thank you. Thank you for writing and telling me. You guys are super!
